Integrated Ceiling Module Solution for a Pharmaceutical Facility
Integrated Ceiling Module Solution for a Pharmaceutical Facility

Project Overview:
BOTHX delivered an integrated ceiling module solution for a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Wuxi, China.
Project Challenges:
- Implementing modular construction without increasing the overall project cost or structural loading
- Maintaining the original building configuration and Detailed Design (DD) requirements
- Coordinating building construction, onsite MEP installation, and offsite module prefabrication in parallel
- Meeting GMP requirements while ensuring installation precision, construction quality, and site safety
- Reducing onsite labor demand and minimizing fragmented construction activities
Project Solution:
BOTHX implemented an integrated ceiling module solution, combining more than 10 categories of components into factory-prefabricated assemblies, including support systems, ceiling panels, air ducts, water pipes, cable trays, lighting fixtures, sprinklers, and smoke detectors.
The modular approach enabled offsite prefabrication to proceed simultaneously with building and onsite MEP construction, reducing fragmented onsite operations by more than 80%.
The installation process was optimized to achieve an onsite installation capacity of approximately 200 m² per day with a six-person team.
Project Results:
- 112 prefabricated modules delivered across seven production lines
- Approximately 2,800 m² of integrated ceiling modules installed
- More than 10 component categories integrated into prefabricated modules
- Over 80% reduction in fragmented onsite operations
- Approximately 200 m²/day installation capacity with a six-person team
- 5 mm overall diagonal accuracy and 2 mm ceiling flatness
- GMP-compliant implementation with improved construction quality and safety management
Client Value
By integrating multiple building and MEP systems into prefabricated ceiling modules, BOTHX helped transform a traditionally fragmented onsite construction process into a more coordinated and efficient modular delivery approach.
The solution reduced onsite labor requirements, enabled parallel construction activities, and improved installation precision, quality consistency, and safety management — all without increasing the overall project cost or structural loading.
